The Victorian Government is working alongside the Aboriginal community to increase economic participation, economic independence, and wealth creation for Aboriginal Victorians. The Government’s partnership with Kinaway Chamber of Commerce recognises that a successful Victorian Aboriginal economy will contribute to a more prosperous economy and future for all Victorians.

Kinaway plays a critical role in certifying Victorian Aboriginal businesses and supporting businesses owners to ensure that they are well-positioned to win government contracts under the Social Procurement Framework. For example, in the 2022–23 financial year, the Victorian Government spent $23.81 million with 120 certified Victorian Aboriginal businesses.

The Victorian Government is proud to sponsor Kinaway’s Deadly in Melbourne: A First Nations Business Expo event. This important event gathers buyers and suppliers in person to showcase Victorian Aboriginal businesses, build productive relationships, and explore procurement opportunities. Attendance is encouraged for all established and aspiring Victorian Aboriginal businesses, Victorian Government departments and agencies, and industry.
