Rokon Partners with Kinaway!

Overview of the Partner’s business

Rokon is one of Victoria’s leading civil contractors with over 250 employees.  We specialise in residential and industrial subdivision work, infrastructure & structural works, wetland and medium density/retirement developments. We have recently celebrated 25 years in business, and we look forward to the next 25 years of growth and successful project delivery for our many and varied clients.

Engagement with the Indigenous sector & actions toward reconciliation

Predominantly our engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island businesses is through our procurement activities – materials and services. We have existing arrangements with some suppliers and subcontractors, and we look forward to increasing the number of businesses we engage with, whilst taking our first steps along our reconciliation journey with Kinaway’s support and guidance.

Why did the Partner sign up with Kinaway?

This partnership marks an important step forward in growing our commitment to reconciliation, sustainable procurement, and creating inclusive opportunities across our industry.

What is the Partner’s mission or aim in supporting the Indigenous economy? How will Kinaway member businesses benefit from this partnership?

We aim to create new opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to collaborate with Rokon on our civil infrastructure and development projects. By connecting with organisations that are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned, managed, and controlled, we hope to support their growth, bolster local economies, and contribute to meaningful client & community outcomes.

How does the Partner hope to benefit from their partnership with Kinaway?

  • Strengthen and diversify our supplier base by connecting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island businesses, which is the real first step to creating value for all parties – meaningful and practical growth will benefit us all whilst also strengthening our relationships

  • Create consequential opportunities for local employment and training

  • Engage with culturally relevant resources, programs, and workshops to build a more inclusive and culturally safe workplace

  • Commence our reconciliation journey through the development of the first stage of our Reconciliation Action Plan
