OHS Essentials Program

The OHS Essentials Program is a free workplace safety advisory service funded by WorkSafe Victoria that helps small businesses identify and manage occupational health and safety (OHS) risks.

WorkSafe's Project Officer Nisha Singh, will provide an overview of the program which is designed to help businesses understand their OHS obligations, identify workplace hazards and risks, develop practical safety improvements, strengthen safety systems and processes and reduce the likelihood of workplace injuries and incidents.

Workplace Consultation

Effective workplace consultation and issue resolution are essential to creating safer, healthier, and more productive workplaces. In this session, Rosa Reynolds will explore the critical role that consultation plays in identifying and managing workplace risks, building trust between employers and workers, and meeting legal obligations.

Drawing on practical examples, Rosa will discuss how effective consultation helps organisations make better safety decisions, resolve issues early, and strengthen safety culture. The session will also cover issue resolution processes, including the roles and responsibilities of employers, workers, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs), and unions in achieving positive safety outcomes.

Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how meaningful consultation and effective issue resolution can support safer workplaces and improve organisational performance!
