Engagement with the Indigenous sector & actions toward reconciliation
Multiplex has a long and proud history of listening and learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
We have supported Literacy for Life from inception, with our Global CEO and Executive Director (Operations) serving on the board. The foundation’s goal is to teach Aboriginal Adults to read and write. This program is 100% community run and had resulted in 504 graduates and more than 100 Indigenous jobs created.
We also have a Innovate RAP which supports our contribution to reconciliation and engaging with community.
We have also incorporated several Aboriginal businesses as suppliers within our business.
In Victoria specifically, we deliver projects under the Social Procurement Framework and have successfully procured more than $58m through Aboriginal businesses in the past 5 years.
Why did the Partner sign up with Kinaway?
We signed up to Kinaway as we saw value in the work they do supporting Victorian Aboriginal businesses. Not only do they connect us with businesses, they educate and hold events that bring opportunities to life. Whether it is Deadly in Melbourne, information and educational sessions or industry events, Kinaway’s hands on approach was clear and made it an easy decision for us to sign up.
